Three Days!

Posted by Michael Ian Black Sunday, July 12th, 2009

The press continues to roll in for the premiere. Even In Touch Magazine likes the show (4 out of 5 stars). As for me, I've finally spent a weekend at home with my family: my first one in about a month, and it reminded me of why it's so good to be away. No, that's a joke. It's been great being home. The kids are both much taller than I remember. It's also possible I'm shorter since I've been spending a lot of time in a negative gravity environment (secret work for NASA).

This coming week is a little busy with promotional stuff, including Michael Showalter's exciting Letterman premiere! Then there's various other interviews in which I will try not to give canned responses to questions I've heard twenty times before. When you hear me say, "The first 'Michael' in 'Michael & Michael' is dedicated to Michael Jackson," you will know that I was anticipating the question.

We are going to try to maintain this blog even after the show starts airing. Please feel free to comment on the show, particularly in your comments are along the lines of "Michael Black was terrific tonight. Michael Showalter, not so much." If you decide to post the reverse of that sentiment, I would encourage you to simply not say anything, as his ego is already swollen to bursting, and if you compliment him any further, it may actually kill him.

Anyway, please wish us luck as we approach the big premiere evening.

My head is going to explode by proxy of anticipation. Please don't let this commentary excite you in ways that would disturb the public.

Wouldn't a negative gravity environment make you taller, not shorter?

I'm really excited and nervous for you guys. You must be having so many emotions- it's HERE!!! Well, tomorrow night, but close enough. I think I might make "Michael and Michael" cupcakes for tomorrow night for the event. I'll pass along some to you guys- virtual ones, that is.

To two of the funniest and nicest guys around, wishing you good luck tomorrow night and much success with your new show!

I am very excited for you guys! Which makes me nervous because the last time I was this excited for michael ian black was that chicago show I was going to go to, and then "they" cancelled it at the last minute. Don't do that again, please. Thanks.

I'm telling everyone about the show. With this and my new State DVDs, I feel like it's Christmas… with blueberries… and pudding.

I cannot wait for this shows premiere tonight. I personally loved Stella and I continue to re watch those episodes. Too bad David Wain isn't with you guys, he was kind of a funny guy too. Meh. No, that's a joke he was great. Good luck tonight, big guys.
