Matchmakers

Posted by Michael Ian Black Sunday, July 26th, 2009

The next episode is one of my favorites. It involves some matchmaking betwixt a new editor and a character we get to know better for the first time, Marla. Another exciting aspect of this episode is that it allowed me to use the word "betwixt" in a blog posting. So that's pretty cool.

There's also some very funny sketches, and a performance by all four members of the Beatles for the first time since 1970. (The last claim isn't true, but I think it would be great if those guys would finally get together for a reunion tour.)

The support from fans has been tremendous. People seem to really like the new show, even the ones who absolutely hate it. That may seem contradictory, but if you read between the lines, I think the people who profess to hate the show are actually just having a hard time coming to terms with how much they, in fact, enjoy it. Which is obviously incredibly gratifying.

Some other MMHI news: COMEDY CENTRAL HAS OFFICIALLY PICKED US UP FOR A SECOND SEASON!!!*

*This isn't true at all. They have not picked us up, but I was hoping by loudly proclaiming that they had it would become a self-fulfilling prophecy. That's the why Nostradamus worked.**

** That's not the way Nostradamus worked.

You TOTALLY got my hopes up just now because I didn't continue reading. I really hope you guys get picked up for another season. I've watched episode 2 literally 15 times already.

Your show isn't as good as Stella. That said, I'm going to keep watching it because Comedy Central usually sucks and they need more from you The State alums. Keep up the OK work.

I envision the CC execs as a panel of three, like on America's Got Talent, and two of them want to give the "ok" to pick the show up but the third is hesitant. He says no but then the other two remind him of that embarrassing drunken hotdog eating incident on YouTube and he relents.

Congratulations!

I'll agree about the haters Black. So true… I got so excited when I saw the second season thing >.< too bad its not true. There's still hope! And I'm still recruiting people to watch the show! Honestly, this show is the only thing I watch on Comedy Central so if it did get canceled I would boycott CC.

I will agree with Matt Lewis, It's not as good as Stella (there's something about the way you guys pick on David that just gets me every time) but it IS an amazing show non-the-less.

I don't hate your show guys. I just think it's far inferior to the work done on Stella as everyone else says. The writing on Stella was more polished and original, the direction more stylish.
