Hi!

Posted by Michael Ian Black Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Michael Ian Black here, just wanting to thank everybody for continuing to support MMHI. The response has been terrific and, as a result, my wife decided to postpone leaving me, in the hopes that we get picked up for a second season, thus ensuring a larger alimony payment when she finally goes. Of course, I have mixed feelings about the whole situation. On one hand, I'm thrilled that my wife is going to be living with me for a little while longer, but on the other hand, the respite is temporary. I suppose I could use this time we have together to improve our relationship, work on our issues, and try to repair our many many problems. Or I could go to Foxwoods like I was planning. My head tells me to work on the relationship, but my heart tells me Foxwoods needs me even more than my wife.

Anyway, as I said I'm thrilled for the continued support. I've spoken to the other Michael (Shoemaker?), and he agrees with me. You guys have been just great, and we really appreciate it. This week is a good episode, which features the deaths of many innocent animals.

Matchmakers

Posted by Michael Ian Black Sunday, July 26th, 2009

The next episode is one of my favorites. It involves some matchmaking betwixt a new editor and a character we get to know better for the first time, Marla. Another exciting aspect of this episode is that it allowed me to use the word "betwixt" in a blog posting. So that's pretty cool.

There's also some very funny sketches, and a performance by all four members of the Beatles for the first time since 1970. (The last claim isn't true, but I think it would be great if those guys would finally get together for a reunion tour.)

The support from fans has been tremendous. People seem to really like the new show, even the ones who absolutely hate it. That may seem contradictory, but if you read between the lines, I think the people who profess to hate the show are actually just having a hard time coming to terms with how much they, in fact, enjoy it. Which is obviously incredibly gratifying.

Some other MMHI news: COMEDY CENTRAL HAS OFFICIALLY PICKED US UP FOR A SECOND SEASON!!!*

*This isn't true at all. They have not picked us up, but I was hoping by loudly proclaiming that they had it would become a self-fulfilling prophecy. That's the why Nostradamus worked.**

** That's not the way Nostradamus worked.
